The Ayandegan Institute of Higher Education in west Mazandaran province recently hosted its first conference focused on the economic and social development of the region (MazDev 2023). The two-day event brought together academic experts, government officials, and local community leaders to discuss strategies for improving infrastructure, supporting small businesses, and expanding educational opportunities in the area.
The conference featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, and breakout sessions covering a range of relevant topics. Participants examined challenges such as rural-urban migration, agricultural modernization, and environmental sustainability. They also highlighted promising initiatives already underway, including plans to upgrade highways and establish new technical training centers.
“This was an important first step in bringing together diverse stakeholders to chart a course for the future development of western Mazandaran,” said Dr. Seyyed Esmaeil Najafi, the president of Ayandegan Institute. “The discussions were insightful and productive, and we look forward to continued collaboration as we work to realize the region’s full potential.”
